چکیده

Barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) is one of the most important cereal crops that their grains are used in malt and forage industry. Yield quality losses occur barley due to abiotic biotic stress factors. leaf diseases caused by fungal pathogens common leading significant yield losses. Within framework environmentally-friendly integrated crop management, disease-resistant varieties should be developed together with a breeding program for sustainable agriculture. In disease resistance studies, first step monitor situation agent(s) region or country. For this purpose; 2019-2020, survey 54 fields was done 5 provinces Central Anatolia (Ankara, Eskişehir, Kırıkkale, Kırşehir, Yozgat). As result surveys, determined as stripe (Drechslera graminea). net spot (D. teres f. maculata, D. teres), (Rhynchosporium commune) powdery mildew (E. graminis sp. hordei) followed order.

Lysine Catabolism in Barley (Hordeum vulgare L.).

Lysine catabolism in seedlings of barley (Hordeum vulgare L. var. Emir) was studied by direct injection of the following tracers into the endosperm of the seedlings: aspartic acid-3-(14)C, 2-aminoadipic acid-1-(14)C, saccharopine-(14)C, 2,6-diaminopimelic acid-1-(7)-(14)C, and lysine-1-(14)C. Labeled saccharopine was formed only after the administration of either labeled 2,6-diaminopimelic acid...

Genetic analysis of the function of major leaf proteases in barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) nitrogen remobilization.

Most of the nitrogen harvested with the seeds of annual crops is remobilized and retranslocated within the plant between anthesis and plant death. While chloroplasts contain most of the reduced nitrogen present in photosynthetically active leaf cells, the (major) pathway(s) involved in the degradation of their proteins prior to the retranslocation of the resulting amino acids are unknown. In th...

Allelopathic Plants. 19. Barley (Hordeum vulgare L)

Barley is integrated with other crops to inhibit weed growth, through allelopathic interactions. Effects of barley on growth of other crops, weeds and autotoxicity among cultivars result primarily from allelopathy mediated by allelochemicals released from plant components and/or exuded from living roots. A limited number of allelochemicals are identified that contributes to allelopathic effecti...

Identification of a Phytase Gene in Barley (Hordeum vulgare L.)

BACKGROUND Endogenous phytase plays a crucial role in phytate degradation and is thus closely related to nutrient efficiency in barley products. The understanding of genetic information of phytase in barley can provide a useful tool for breeding new barley varieties with high phytase activity. METHODOLOGY/PRINCIPAL FINDINGS Quantitative trait loci (QTL) analysis for phytase activity was condu...
